Chief Medical Officer & Co-founder
As Chief Medical Officer, Robert provides leadership in product design and development, process improvement in the clinical setting and demonstration of the system at an expert level.
Robert is a former Chief of Anesthesia at Providence Hospital,
a large community hospital in Mobile, Alabama, where he was involved
in perioperative information system development, operating room
coordination and process improvement. He has also chaired the Adverse
Drug Events Committee for the hospital. He is an active member of
the Society for Technology in Anesthesia (STA) and the Anesthesia Patient
Safety Foundation (APSF) with a focus on drug safety and informatics.
Robert was a senior partner at Anesthesia Services, while it
was one of the largest providers of anesthesia services in the Southeast
and one of the 10 largest in the United States. Thirty years of
healthcare experience (including health care product design and
development as well as medical practice and hospital management)
has uniquely qualified Dr. Evans to provide leadership in reaching
DocuSys' clinical and corporate objectives.
Robert obtained a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Nebraska, a Registered Respiratory Therapist degree after training at the University of Chicago, and a Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine (now Midwestern University) where he interned before anesthesia residency at Duke University Medical Center. After joining the faculty at Duke he became one of the founding faculty members of a residency program at the University of South Alabama.
