McKesson, DocuSys extend their Partnership To Bring Patient Safety Solutions to Healthcare Industry through Innovative Anesthesia Information System Technology
(Mobile, Ala.)— DocuSys, Inc., a leading provider of Anesthesia Information Management Systems (AIMS) and Digital Drug Management Systems, has licensed its AIMS technology to McKesson Corporation. This move positions McKesson as DocuSys’ largest single customer to date.
By choosing DocuSys as its partner, McKesson is complimenting its clinical product line for the perioperative environment. Through the agreement, McKesson gains the right to sublicense the current version of the DocuSys solution to its customers and provide ongoing development, maintenance and support. DocuSys will receive royalties from McKesson for each sublicense and will continue to develop, market, maintain and support future versions of its software. Integration of the partners’ respective products is preserved in the agreement.
“The new agreement with McKesson enables DocuSys to expand distribution of our anesthesia patient safety technology and optimize resources in advancing our business and development processes,” said DocuSys President and CEO Robert Hanson. “It also allows us to sharpen our focus on our medication management systems and create first-generation products in the preoperative medicine arena—a segment of the perioperative environment that has been largely unaddressed. We are very pleased with the agreement and the opportunities it creates for the company.”
About DocuSys
DocuSys is the first company to provide comprehensive digitization of anesthesia by merging two of the most critical components of patient care – drug delivery and clinical information – maximizing both the quality of care and return on investment in surgery. The system incorporates customizable decision support, professional fee capture, comorbid condition documentation and an intravenous drug monitor, DocuJect®, which uses bar-coding and digital imaging to automate documentation, tracking and billing of drugs. DocuSys’ modular design permits integration with existing hospital information systems, electronic drug dispensing cabinets, infusion pumps, physiologic monitors and other systems in those settings where intravenous drug delivery is key.
