DocuSys Closes Acquisition of Prompte
(Atlanta)—DocuSys, Inc., the market-leading provider of the most innovative systems for anesthesia information management, medication management and presurgical care management, today announced that it has closed its acquisition of Prompte, LLC. As previously announced, this acquisition creates the most comprehensive solution for perioperative documentation of the clinical events from the time a decision is made to schedule surgery through the postoperative period.
“We are pleased to announce that Dr. David Young, Prompte’s founder, will be joining DocuSys as Medical Director, Presurgical Care Management. His commitment to improve the quality of care combined with his acute understanding of the perioperative environment will provide DocuSys with a huge resource as we work together to advance patient safety,” said DocuSys President and CEO Robert Watson. “This acquisition will allow us to combine the Prompte technology, which has been renamed to the DocuSys Presurgical Care Management System, with our current Anesthesia Information Management System, creating the most extensive anesthesia record available on the market.
“I am very much looking forward to working with the entire DocuSys team,” said Dr. David Young, Prompte’s founder and an attending anesthesiologist at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois. “The alignment of our goals in patient safety and comorbid disease documentation will help to advance the anesthetic and surgical care of all patients.”
DocuSys’ Presurgical Care Management System is currently being implemented at Caritas St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Boston, and Ochsner Health System in New Orleans. This system will provide both hospitals with a web-based, patient-driven health survey for collecting a patient’s health history prior to surgery, along with a comprehensive system to manage presurgical patient assessment and readiness for surgery. Both organizations have go-live dates planned for early 2009.
About Prompte

The founders of Prompte are practicing anesthesiologists and experienced surgical business strategists with a deep, profound understanding of the needs of the perioperative environment. Prompte was formed with the sole purpose of building upon the enormous opportunity to improve quality of care that the founders recognized in the Cleveland Clinic Foundation HealthQuest on-line pre-procedural screening tool. In collaboration with the clinical advisory board, Prompte’s founders enhanced the solution to include the comprehensive PreOpPlanner™.
